Chasing the Sun Project

I love watching sunrise and sunset.  Sunrise gives me hope, sunset gives me peace of mind, and both brings happiness to me. This is a collection of my shots of sunrise and sunset.  Most of the photos were captured through my cheap mobile phone so, quality is not that good. 🙁

A Trip to Boracay

My first post after 3 years. Yeah…! I’m still alive. I have reasons why I’m keeping this blog.  Ahaha! Anyways, it’s good to be back.  This post has been loooong overdue.  Still, I wanted to share this here as it is one of the memorable trips I had. Here it goes…

OUR TRIP
My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate our birthday in Boracay.  I was staying in Cebu and he is in Negros. We booked a flight from Cebu to Boracay.  However, due to some unfortunate events we missed our flight.  So, we decided to travel by land.

> Cebu to Toledo via Van (in Citilink) – 2 hours
> Toledo to San Carlos City (Fast Craft) – 45  minutes
> San Carlos to Bacolod (via Don Salvador) – 2 hours

Unfortunately (again), when we arrived at the pier in Bacolod we did not catch the last trip of the fast craft.  So we stayed for the night in Bacolod and decided to catch up for the first trip to Ilo-ilo in the morning.  When we arrived in Ilo-ilo, we went straight to Tagbak terminal and ride a van to Caticlan.  Then, went to Jetty Port to ride a ferry to Boracay island.  It took us a total of 6 hours travel.  It was like we were on an island hopping, from Cebu – Negros – Ilo-ilo – Boracay.  It was a little tiring but for a person who loves to travel by land you would surely enjoy it. 🙂

OUR STAY
We finally arrived in Boracay.  We checked in at our hotel.  We stayed in La Carmela De Boracay.  I first liked the place as they are located in the middle which makes very accessible to the stores and restaurants. But then I realized, it’s too crowded.  It would be a good place to those who love to party. It’s not for those who wanted to relax and unwind.  But hey, I just want to see Boracay.  Also, the thing that we did not like in La Carmela was the noise.  There are a lot of guests though it was off-peak season and are really noisy.  Though our over-all stay there was ok, good enough for our budget. 🙂

THE BEACH
I would be honest I was a little disappointed with the beach. Maybe because we were in station 2?  Maybe station 1 is much better? Or maybe because it’s not summer?  I don’t know but for what I saw Cebu’s beaches are much nicer especially those in the southern part.  The sand though, yeah, finally I’ve touched the famous powder-like sand of Boracay.

And not to forget the much awaited sunset in Boracay.  It was beautiful.

And what I love most on this trip…? It was being with the person I love ♥♥♥…

Will I still go back to Boracay? Definitely, yes.. but I would prefer to go on plane next time.  🙂

The Sunrise ☼ ☼ ☼

I’ve always loved watching the sunset.  I remember when I was still in grade school; I sit in the middle of the field and watch as the sun sets.  I just find it so relaxing. It makes me feel great… the day has ended, time for me to rest.

The feeling was even greater after watching the sunrise.  I’ve waited from 4am ’til 6am waiting for the sun to come up.  Seeing the sky changes its color while slowly revealing the big and bright sun.  It’s telling me that there is still hope.  New day is about to start.  It makes me look forward for the day ahead.  It makes me feel happy. 🙂

I guess this is what really sunrise is for.  Giving everyone a chance and hope.  A chance to correct things that gone wrong..  And hope that in every dark sky there is always light. We just need to be patient and have trust on Him.

So, in every day that we see the sun rises, we need to look forward on what we can do for this day. And do not forget to do what you have not done yesterday.  Life is short, let’s enjoy every moment that we have  and make the most of it.

The photos below were taken from Voda Krashna Beach Resort, Alcoy, Cebu.  This is where we held our very first team building with the Global Team.

Harry Potter (Spells, Charms, Jinxes, Hexes, Curses)

I just found some of my notes on Harry Potter spells on my saved documents.  I honestly forgot where I got this list from but I think it’s worth sharing.  But before that, I think we should know what are the difference between Spells, Charms, Curses, Jinxes and Hexes first (at least for those who do not know). Spell is the generic term for a piece of magic and can replace the other four types. Jinx is used for a magic that has a bad effect.  The spell also needs to have a slightly humorous effect to be called Jinx. For example, a Tripping spell would be a Jinx, and, let’s say, a spell that makes your face swell would be hex. Hex is like a jinx but more serious in effect.  It has a connotation of dark magic, as do jinxes, but of a minor sort.  JK Rowling usually use ‘jinx’ for spells whose effects are irritating but amusing. Charm is a spell used to change the nature of an object (making a teacup dance or fly), or for a spell that works in a special way that is different from a projectile spell (charms are not like jinxes or hexes, they don’t shoot off and hit something. It does not fundamentally alter the properties of the subject of the spell, but adds, or changes, properties. Curse is reserved for the worst kinds of dark magic.

Here are the list of incantations with its resulting effect:
